OpenAI announced a new and more powerful artificial intelligence model called GPT-4 Turbo and with it, the company introduced GPTs. This is a new option for users to create a custom version of ChatGPT that’s made for specific purposes such as teaching you the rules of a game, teach math to kids or do custom designs.
What’s even more exciting about GPT is that you don’t need to know how to code in order to built one. Anyone can customise the chatbot by giving it instructions through conversations, allowing you to feed it specific knowledge and make it analyse certain data by using natural language.
This feature is already available and any user can share their custom ChatGPT publicly. Moreover, the company will be launching a GPT Store later this month which will feature chatbots from verified builders, making the GPTs searchable. Of course, this also means that you’ll be able to earn money through this store by selling your GPT.
For privacy, your chats with other people’s GPTs won’t be shared with the original builders and it uses third-party APIs, you’ll be able to chooses whether your data can be sent to the API. Even with OpenAI itself, builders have the option to opt their GPT out of data sharing for the company’s model training. If you want to build a chatbot yourself, you can try it out on their website.
