When it comes to pricey TWS earbuds, most of these cater to the more discerning music enthusiast, while true audiophiles being willing to shell out much more. But now, there’s a pair of wireless earbuds that leans more towards gaming, but has the kind of asking price that you’d associate with audio buffs. It’s the Redmagic Cyberbuds Dao TWS, and it’s one of the few gaming TWS buds that actually feature RGB lighting.

On its spec sheet is the Qualcomm S5 chip, which grants it a number wireless audio-related advantages. This includes Bluetooth 5.3, support for LE Audio, aptX and LHDC 5.0 codecs, and a latency of as low as 39ms. Using the included dongle, which has its own Qualcomm S3 chip, it can go all the way down to 28ms.
The company says that the Redmagic Cyberbuds Dao TWS has 11mm drivers to deliver audio, and three microphones for its ANC and voice calls. There’s also a stainless steel middle frame to improve durability, but the outer shell of the earbuds is still clear plastic for the RGB lighting to shine through. The buds use tap touch controls, and powering all this are 35mAh batteries in each bud, giving them about seven hours of use. The company says the charging case has its own 350mAh battery, but didn’t share exact figures for additional use time.
Beyond these, the Redmagic Cyberbuds Dao TWS also gets a mobile app, which is where you get to make equaliser adjustments, as well as setting up your personal rainbow light show. The app is called Goper which, oddly enough, in only available on the Google Play Store. Apple App Store availability is simply noted as “soon” without a specific date.
For all these features, the Redmagic Cyberbuds Dao TWS has an asking price of RM1,499, which is pretty steep to say the least. They area available now for purchase at the brand’s official store on Lazada.
