TM’s Unifi has announced a new cloud gaming service in collaboration with Blacknut, giving users access to over 500 game titles at a relatively affordable price. However, you’ll need to be a Unifi Home subscriber in order to be eligible to subscribe to the gaming plan.
The Unifi Cloud Gaming plan costs RM35 per month with no contract and no in-game purchases, meaning every game is included in the subscription with no downloads required, along with the ability to create up to five user profiles. Regarding compatibility, you can play the games through Blacknut’s portal on any browser using a Windows, Mac, Android, or iOS device, as well as the Blacknut app on the Unifi TV Box.
On top of having no contract period, the company is also offering subscribers cloud gaming for free for the first month once you successfully register through the self care portal. However, you can choose to add-on a Logitech F710 wireless gamepad for an additional RM9/month with a 24-month contract.
The ISP recommends having a minimum internet speed of 6Mbps to use the service, which shouldn’t be a problem for Unifi Home subscribers. The main page for cloud gaming advertises that any customer with a plan ranging from 30Mbps to 2Gbps qualifies to add on the Blacknut subscription, but its FAQ page states that you’ll need to be on at least the 100Mbps plan. TM has clarified to us that the minimum requirement is indeed the 30Mbps plan and that the FAQ will be updated soon.
