Xiaomi might be releasing yet another one of its wearables to the global market, namely the Smart Band 8 Pro. The smart band was launched in China back in August along with the non-Pro variant, but only the latter has arrived In Malaysia so far, but this might change soon as the Pro has been spotted on several certification databases, including Malaysia’s.
Last week, TheTechOutlook spotted the device listed on the SIRIM database with the model number M2333B1 as well as the Smart Band 8 Pro marketing name. However, this was amended a day later to remove the marketing name, but the model number remains the same. With this and its appearance on Singapore’s IMDA platform, the wearable is expected to make its global debut soon.
The Smart Band 8 Pro sports a rectangular 1.74-inch AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 600 nits. It packs a built-in GPS system and is water resistant up to five metres, with health sensor to monitor your heart rate, menstrual cycle, stress levels, sleep, and blood oxygen levels.
For the battery life, it is equipped with a 297mAh capacity and the brand claims that the band can last up to 14 days. We don’t know what the local pricing will look like yet but given that it has a price tag of CNY399 (~RM260) in China, we can expect it to cost somewhere within that range.
