The initial announcement of Diablo Immortal back in 2018 was, well, immortalised by the countless internet memes that stemmed from it. Two years later, the mobile title went into its technical alpha stage, but only in Australia. Another two years go by, and now we have an official release date for the game, which is 2 June. Though after adjusting for time zone differences, it’s likely we’ll be getting it on 3 June instead.
In addition to a release date, Blizzard Entertainment had another surprise announcement regarding Diablo Immortal. And that’s the fact that the game will be getting a PC version. Which is quite the swing from the initial announcement, though not exactly surprising considering the following backlash.
On that note, Diablo Immortal will also support cross-play and cross play and cross save. This will allow you to switch seamlessly between playing at home and on the go, as well as with anyone regardless of their platform of choice. It’s a nice bonus on top of the game being available on PC. The game will also be free-to-play regardless of platform.
Diablo Immortal will launch with six playable classes, the Barbarian, Crusader, Demon Hunter, Monk, Necromancer, and Wizard. The game will take you through an all-new story that takes place between the events of Diablo II and Diablo III. You can pre-register for the game by heading to its website, linked below. Players who complete the tutorial within 30 days of the game’s launching will also get the Horadrim cosmetic set for free.
