AyaNeo OLED Handheld Console To Feature AMD Ryzen 5000U APU

AyaNeo recently announced that it is planning on releasing a new Neo handheld console featuring an OLED display. The console, which is a part of the AyaNeo Next series, will continue to be powered by an AMD Ryzen 5000U APU, but sadly, it doesn’t look like it will be powered by RDNA2 GPU cores, much like the Steam Deck.

According to a few sources, the AyaNeo OLED console is expected to operate at just 12W, meaning that we could be looking at a Ryzen 4 5400U or 5425U APU. Specs-wise, the two processors are definitely using the Zen3 microarchitecture, along with AMD Vega graphics cores. In terms of performance, the CPU cores in these APUs are capable of hitting speeds of up to 4.1GHz, while the Vega Compute Units can run at 1.9GHz when put to task.

Other specifications also point to the AyaNeo OLED weighing in at less than 500g, 16GB LPDDR4X RAM running at a frequency of 4267MHz, Wi-Fi6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and Windows 11. Oh, and the size of the OLED display is 6-inches with a native resolution of Full HD.

As for its performance, the company hasn’t officially released any metrics, but one Twitter user had posted some screenshots of games running on the console. Although, there were no details as to what sort of presets each title was set to, save for the fact that they were all running at 720p.

The AyaNeo OLED console is expected to be announced next month, while the company did say that it plans on releasing another handheld console later this year, but one powered by AMD’s Ryzen 6000 series Mobile processors.
