Razer has launched the Razer Seiren V2 Pro and Seiren V2 X. Both of which are the next-gen successors to the company’s Seiren microphone that was launched all the way back in 2015.
While the original product itself spawned several different iterations throughout the years (such as its own X variant and the more playful Emote version), this is the first time that Razer released an actual sequel for it. It is also worth noting that the company decided to not release a base model for the Seiren V2 model, although it may be possible that it would pop-up at a later date.
Both the Razer Seiren V2 Pro and Seiren V2 X offer a 96KHz sample rate, 24 bit rate, 20Hz – 20KHz frequency response, -34dB sensitivity, a maximum SPL at 120dB, and a 105dB signal-to-noise ratio. As you may expect, Razer touts the duo to deliver crystal clear voice quality for broadcasts and calls.
As seen from the images, both microphones also sport a new pill-like design which ditches the original’s mostly cylindrical form factor. They also come with an on/off button, USB connectivity, and an analog gain limiter. Of course, there are some distinct differences between the two, especially in terms of size and functions.
The Pro variant is a 30mm dynamic microphone which comes with a versatile stand that allows it to be positioned at any vertical angle. It also features a high pass filter to “block out unwanted low frequencies” and provide “greater noise suppression compared to traditional cardioid mics to ensure total vocal clarity.”
The X version, on the other hand, is the smaller of the two. It is a 24mm condenser microphone that comes with Supercardioid Pickup pattern, which offers “greater voice isolation” for a “natural vocal quality.” Aside from its more compact size, this variant lacks a volume knob and features a less versatile mic stand that enables it to be tilted back or forth at very limited angles.
Both microphones are now available for purchase via the company’s official online store and authorised retailers. The new Razer Seiren V2 Pro and Seiren V2 X are priced at RM729 and RM489 respectively.
