The company subsequently revealed that the monitor carries a price tag of RM2,899 for its release in Malaysia which has immediately attracted plenty of comments from our readers on Facebook.
September then rolled in and Dell has since released the new Full HD USB-C IPS portable monitor into Malaysia, as promised. While the RM2,899 price tag still remains, Dell Malaysia is currently offering it for RM1,449:
That is around 50% of the original price tag. More importantly, that price is much closer to what Dell has set for the United States market which is USD 349.99 (~RM1,451).
Hence, we couldn’t help to wonder whether the discount is real or just a ruse to mask the product’s actual retail price which is an age-old marketing tactic used by numerous brands and retailers all over the world.
