Today is the day that over 10 million Malaysians can start claiming their RM100 e-wallet credit from the eMadani programme. Four providers are participating in this e-wallet payout, namely Maybank’s MAE, Setel, ShopeePay and Touch ‘n Go eWallet. Each provider is offering its own set of incentives to users who redeem the credit on their respective platform and TnG’s certainly sounds enticing.
The TnG eWallet says that it is giving out up to RM100 million worth of GOrewards points and merchant vouchers for the eMadani programme. This translates to 1,000 GOrewards points for each successful claimant as well as over RM500 worth of vouchers for online, retail, F&B, telco, transportation, and more.
It’s important to note that the GOrewards points can’t be used to offset purchases but rather, it’s use is limited to redeeming vouchers on the e-wallet platform. As with the other providers, all Malaysians who fit the criteria can redeem the RM100 credit from 4 December 2023 to 20 February 2024. After receiving the credit, they will only have up until 29 February 2024 to spend it.
To recap, users who wish to be eligible to redeem the credit must be at least 21 years old, earn RM100,000 or less per year, filed their income with IRB by 15 July 2023 or be an STR recipient, and they must not be a recipient of the earlier eBeliaRahmah payout. As usual, the credit can only be spent through retail purchases and cannot be transferred or cashed out.
