Razer Fujin Looks More Like An Office Chair Than A Gaming Chair

Razer Fujin Pro

Razer has had a small range of gaming chairs under its name, but they mostly looked the part. As in, they have their aesthetics lifted almost wholesale from racing harnesses. But more recently, the company has announced a couple of new chairs, called the Razer Fujin and Fujin Pro. Which look more like office chairs than gaming ones.

In fact, these chairs look more like products of Herman Miller than Razer, especially at first glance. The difference though lies beneath the surface, or perhaps more accurately, at the back. The Pro model gets a dial for you adjust lumbar support depth, much like what you get from the brand’s first chair, the Iskur. New to both chairs in the Razer Fujin line though is to adjust lumbar support in terms of height.

But since these are still marketed as gaming chairs, you get arm rests that can be adjusted in various ways. The base Razer Fujin only gets 3D adjustments, while the Pro model gets the full 4D adjustment range. Speaking of which, the Pro model also gets an additional headrest, whereas it is sold separately for the basic model.

Getting the Pro moniker also means that it is made with sturdier stuff. Literally too, since the frame of the base model is made of nylon, while the Pro model gets an aluminium alloy instead. Both make use of a mesh material for where the chair makes contact with your back.

The Razer Fujin is priced at US$649 (~RM3,045), while the Pro model gets a US$1049 (~RM4,921) price tag instead. Which is a sizeable amount of money, to say the least. As for the optional headrest mentioned earlier, this is US$129.99 (~RM610). These are not listed on the official Razer online store for the local market, which is not surprising considering it’s the same for the other chairs. I’m tempted to say that you’ll find these being sold by offline retailers in due time, but the price makes that quite doubtful.
