New Mystery Gadget From Valve May Be Coming Soon

The Steam Deck may go down as one of the crowning glories for Valve, but it’s clear to see that the company is far from done with churning out more products, just as it did with a Steam Controller and hopefully, a revised Steam Deck with improved battery life and display. Now it seems that the company could be releasing a new gadget, sooner than we think.

Thanks to an eagle-eyed internet sleuth by the name of Brad Lynch (@SadlyItsBradley) on X, formerly Twitter, a new “Valve hardware device” was recently given radio certification in South Korea. The device is listed simply with the model name 1030 and certification number RC-V1V-1030, with no other explicit detail, save for the fact that it will either be a “specific” low power device or wireless access system that includes wireless LAN.

To be honest, the lack of information and specificity doesn’t do much to help us form an idea of what precisely the product may be. At this point, however, speculations would say that it could be that this new “hardware device” is the revised Steam Deck that many of us are expecting. That being said, it should also be noted that telecommunications regulatory bodies do not require certification for prototypes.

Again, this is all merely speculation and hearsay at this point. Who knows? Maybe Valve plans on releasing a 2nd generation Steam controller or the follow to 2019’s Index. At this point, we’ll simply tell you to take this news with the usual consumption of sodium.
