MINI, as an automotive brand, is no stranger to EVs, with the company launching the Cooper SE back in 2020. Recently, the company announced new EV models of the MINI Countryman, designated as the E and SE ALL4 variants.
Starting with the former, the MINI Countryman E comes with an electric motor that generates 150 kW / 204 hp and 250 Nm of torque. This lets it perform a 0 – 100 km/h sprint in 8.6 seconds. This is powered by a 66.45 kWh battery, which gives the car a range of up to 462km.
As for the MINI Countryman SE ALL4, this comes with two electric motors, making it an all-wheel drive vehicle. In turn, performance figures for this include 230 kW / 313 hp with 494 Nm of torque, with a century sprint time of 5.6 seconds. The battery is the familiar 66.45 kWh unit, which gives it a range of up to 433 km.
Charging for both the MINI Countryman E and SE ALL4 can be done via 22 kW AC charging, or 130 kW DC charging. The latter lets the battery charge go from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes. No figures were provided for the former, though.
On the inside, both come with a 9.4-inch OLED touch screen dubbed the MINI Interaction unit that serves as the instrument cluster, which runs the MINI Operating System 9. Other tools on the electric vehicle include hour surround-view cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and an optional Parking Assistant Professional, which allows the vehicle to get out of a parking sport when commanded to via smartphone using the Remote Parking feature.
Despite the announcement, there are no pricing details for either the MINI Countryman E or the SE ALL4. With that, it’s safe to say that availability will be quite awhile away.
