Looks like the Mini 4 Pro drone isn’t the only DJI product that has been leaked online this week. Courtesy of tipster Quadro_News is a photo featuring what is alleged to be the Pocket 3, the successor to the company’s ultra-compact portable camera that was released back in 2023. For those who’ve given up for a next generation upgrade to the device, this new leak will breathe in new life to that diminishing hope.
Shown in the image is what appears to be a DJI staffer using the alleged Pocket 3 that’s attached on a stand or a monopod. It is believed that the company is currently testing the camera, therefore it is quite unlikely that we’ll be seeing its debut anytime soon. Moreover, details surrounding the device are still shrouded in mystery, so it is unclear what improvements it will have over its predecessor.

However, the picture did reveal the portable camera sporting a new landscape LCD screen, which appears to be larger than the one offered on the DJI Pocket 2. If the leak is to be believed, this change is a much appreciated improvement as this would finally give users a larger view for framing and reviewing their shots or recordings. Other than that, the Pocket 3 is shown to feature the same three-axis gimbal mount as before, while some sort of attachment is also visible below it – hence the reason why the entire device appears taller in the photo.
If we were to speculate, it’s very likely that the DJI Pocket 3 will be equipped with an upgraded sensor, new onboard video features, as well as improved battery life and heat management. Right now it is still hard to tell whether it will support modular parts such as the Mini Control Stick from its predecessor, though we won’t rule out that possibility.
All that’s left now is an official announcement by DJI. As to when that will happen is still anyone’s guess, unfortunately.
