Xiaomi today has officially launched its new Pad 6 tablet in Malaysia, which is available in three memory configurations. However, unlike its initial launch in China earlier this year, only the base version of the device is made available locally, and it is uncertain whether the high-specced Pro model would remain as an exclusive to the brand’s home market.
Based on the details provided by Xiaomi, the specifications for the Pad 6 in Malaysia are identical to its Chinese release. To recap, the tablet features an 11-inch IPS LCD display with 1800 x 2880 pixel resolution, an adaptive refresh rate of 30 to 144Hz, 1.07 billion colour output, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It also comes with quad microphones, quad stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless support, as well as a USB-C port.
Internally, the new Xiaomi Pad 6 is equipped with a Snapdragon 870 5G octa-core chipset, an Adreno 650 GPU, up to 8GB RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage. Powering it is a large 8,840mAh battery capacity, which supports 33W fast charging. Apart from that, the tablet also comes with Android 13 via MIUI Pad 14, as well as Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6 wireless connectivity.
For imaging, situated on the back of the device is a lone 13MP wide camera with dual LED flash, which is capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps or 1080p at up to 60fps. Meanwhile, found in front is an 8MP selfie camera that can capture 1080p footage at 30fps.
The new Xiaomi Pad 6 is priced at RM1,299 for the 6GB + 128GB configuration and RM1,499 for the 8GB + 256GB, which are available to order via authorised Xiaomi stores nationwide, as well as the brand’s official stores on Lazada and Shopee. There’s also the mid-tier 8GB +128GB for RM1,499, but this trim is only available exclusively through the two aforementioned e-commerce platforms. All three configurations are available in Gravity Gray, Gold, and Mist Blue.
Additionally, today’s launch also saw the unveiling of three accessories for the tablet, namely the Xiaomi Pad 6 Keyboard, second-generation Smart Pen, and the Xiaomi Pad 6 Cover. Both the former two addons are priced at RM399, while the latter is retailing for RM149.
