Last week, a comparision sheet featuring the Sony WF-1000XM5 and some of the company’s other TWS buds appeared online, showing off some of its specs. Now, it looks like more of those have appeared online, courtesy of German tech news site WinFuture.

Among the highlights of the report is the fact that the Sony WF-1000XM5 will be sporting 8.4mm drivers, which the company calls Dynamic Driver X. The report also corroborates the previous leak which claims that each bud will weigh in at 5.9g. Also corroborated is the claim that the charging case will give the buds an additional 24 hours of playback time. This is reportedly thanks to the 500mAh battery. For now, the capacity of the batteries inside each bud is still unknown, as is the effect of ANC on playback time.

Other things installed onto the earbuds include two proprietary processors, and dual feedback mics that help with the optimisation of its ANC tech. Then there are three more microphones to capture ambient noise to optimise sound output instead. For calls, there are bone conduction sensors that optimise the transmission of your voice over to the other side.

Connectivity of the Sony WF-1000XM5 is done via Bluetooth 5.3, with support for HiRes Audio and DSEE Extreme support, as well as multi-point connections. There’s also the IPX4 rating, allowing them to be used during workouts, or just very hot days, which is always a nice bonus to have. Using them involves touch controls that can be customised with the brand’s dedicated Connect app.

One thing that’s not included in this new batch of information on the upcoming TWS buds are its release date, and naturally, their price. The previous leak from last week claimed that the announcement would be done within the week itself, but said week has passed with nothing of the sort happening.
