Xiaomi has officially announced the Xiaomi Mini PC, the brand’s first ever desktop-based computer. As revealed via a leak on Weibo prior to its unveiling, the new product is a palm-sized device resembling an Apple Mac mini and features commendable internal hardware that’s sufficient for running general day-to-day applications.
While images of the product from the leak are accurate, the same can’t be said for the hardware specifications that were provided. According to the official spec sheet from the company, the new Xiaomi Mini PC comes in a single configuration which consists of a 12th generation Intel Core i5-1240P processor with Intel Iris Xe Graphics, 16 GB of 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM, 512 GB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD and a power output of 100 W.
The device’s case is built from aluminium alloy, which measures at 112 x 112 x 38 mm and weighs around 437 grams with the included internal hardware. On its back are two HDMI 2.1 interfaces, a 2.5G network port, a USB 3.0 Gen 2 port, and a USB 2.0 port. Meanwhile, situated in front are two USB 3.0 Gen 2 ports and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Besides that, the Xiaomi Mini PC comes with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 support in terms of wireless connectivity. And in the software department, the device comes with Windows 11 Home pre-installed.
But what about the other miniature desktop PC that was also leaked around the same time? As you may recall from our prior report, it’s believed that the mysterious product was supposed to launch together with the Xiaomi Mini PC. Obviously, this speculation turned out to be inaccurate, and it is still unclear what it is supposed to be. Perhaps we’ll hear more about it at a later date?
Anyway, back to the Xiaomi Mini PC. According to the brand, the new device will retail for CNY 3,999 (~RM 2,533) in China. There’s no word on whether Xiaomi plans to bring it to other markets just yet.
