NVIDIA GeForce Now Cloud Gaming Service Officially Coming To Malaysia Via Yes 5G

NVIDIA GeForce Now Malaysia - Yes 5G

More than a month after we first saw the sign, YTL Communications has officially announced that it has been selected by NVIDIA as the GeForce Now Alliance Partner for Malaysia. In other words, NVIDIA’s cloud gaming service is officially coming to our market.

While GeForce Now is already accessible to Malaysian gamers for quite some time, the service was not offered by a local partner. Instead, the service can only be obtained from Singaporean telco StarHub which not only means that you have to pay for GeForce Now subscription in Singapore Dollars but also have to play through a server that is located in Singapore.

According to the GeForce Now US website, the service currently supports more than 1,000 games from various developers and publishers including over 100 free-to-play games such as Fortnite and Genshin Impact. However, do note that you must already own the title that you want to play through GeForce Now when it comes to paid games.

Despite the official confirmation, YTL stopped short of revealing the exact launch date for GeForce Now Malaysia though. Not only that, the Yes logo has been removed from the login page that we highlighted in our report last month and it now brings users directly to StarHub’s GameHub+ login page instead.

Furthermore, we have yet to see any Malaysian servers on GeForce Now’s status page at the time this article went live. That being said, the mini-site that YTL has created for the cloud gaming service did say that it will send a newsletter this coming Friday to those who sign up at the website.

The form for the registration of interest also said that Yes customers will get access to “exclusive cloud gaming features” although YTL didn’t provide any further clarifications regarding them. Hence, expect more details regarding the imminent arrival of GeForce Now cloud gaming service in Malaysia to be revealed by the telco very soon.
