Shin Megami Tensei V was released last week for the Nintendo Switch, eight whole years after the previous title was released for the 3DS. And now, dataminers have looked through the code of the game and have found hints of a possible release on PC and PS4 as well.
One such dataminer has shared their findings on Twitter, which involves a few lines which read “TargetPlatforms”, “PS4”, and “WindowsNoEditor”. The one for the previous generation Sony console is pretty self explanatory. The latter is a little unclear, but the mention of Windows would suggest a PC version more than anything else. Then there’s also a number of graphics settings that can be changed, something you’d only really worry about with games on PC.

Of course, datamined code inside a game doesn’t always help predict where else games may show up in. But with that being said, the evidence to support it is so far pretty compelling. According to PCGamesN, Shin Megami Tensei V is among the games that were initially listed in the Nvidia GeForce Now datamined list. The graphics company has denied that inclusion in the list means anything significant, but recent game released have proved otherwise. Most prominent of them being PlayStation blockbuster God of War coming to PC.

At any rate, with the frequent occurrences of timed exclusivity, it’s probably safe to assume that Shin Megami Tensei V has a similar deal going on between Atlus, Sega and Nintendo. If an announcement is to be made regarding this, it’s probably about six months away.
