GTA Trilogy Remaster PC Pulled From Rockstar Launcher Because Of “Files Unintentionally Included”

Grand Theft Auto trilogy remaster

To say that the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Remaster has had a storm of issues would be the understatement of the week. Despite having a 11 November release date, those who pre-ordered the GTA Trilogy Remaster got access to it ahead of schedule. And now, the game remains unavailable on the Rockstar launcher on PC.

Annoucing on Twitter, Rockstar Games claims that the games remain unavailable as the publisher removes “files unintentionally included in these versions”. The company did not include details as to what they are. But internet sleuths have found a multitude of items that were in the original games, but were not supposed to be in the GTA Trilogy Remaster.

These range from music that were in the original but not licensed for the remaster to the inclusion of developer comments from way back when. Also included specifically in the San Andreas remaster, according to VGC, was code for the infamous hot coffee mini game that Rockstar had to scrub before re-releasing the game.

All that aside, there are the graphical issues that the GTA Remaster Trilogy presents. These come in all sorts of flavours, from botched character models to rain effects being overlaid on non-water textures. It’s safe to say at this point that this is far from the Definitive Edition Rockstar claims to be. And making things worse were the taking down of the original versions of the games, as well as their mods.
