U Mobile Launches Home Fibre Plans With Symmetrical Speed; Runs On TNB’s Allo Infrastructure

U Mobile today has launched a brand-new fibre service called Ultra Unlimited Home Fibre Broadband (UUHFB) through a collaboration with Allo Technology, which is a subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional. At the moment, the service is available in three different speed options including 100Mbps, 500Mbps, and 1Gbps.

As opposed to the majority of fibre players out there, U Mobile stated that UUHFB offers symmetrical download and upload speeds. That means, both your download and upload speed can go up to 1Gbps if you subscribe to the 1Gbps plan.

In terms of pricing, it ranges from RM 129 to RM 299 depending on respective plans. Do note that UUHFB comes with a 24-months contract:

At the same time, U Mobile also provides a backup SIM card to UUHFB’s customers which they can utilize whenever the service encounters network disruptions. The data-only SIM card comes with 15GB of hotspot quota which would be activated when customers reported downtime incidents to UUHFB’s support team.

However, UUHFB is currently only available to U Mobile customers that subscribed to Giler Unlimited GX68 as well as Unlimited Hero P79, P99, and P139 postpaid plans. Not only that, the service is also limited to selected residential areas in Melaka, Cyberjaya, Perak, and Kedah.

In conjunction with the launch, eligible U Mobile customers can sign up for UUHFB plans at half of their usual monthly price and they would also be able to enjoy the first month for free if they register by 16 December 2021. That being said, do note that the discounted pricing will only last for 24 months.

The telco did say that the service will be made available to non-U Mobile users soon although no timeline was mentioned in today’s announcement. To know more about the new service, just head on to U Mobile’s official website right here.
