ShopeeFood Delivery Service Opens Partner Registration For Food Vendors

The launch of Shopee’s food delivery platform, ShopeeFood, seems to be inching closer as they have just opened up a page for eatery operators to sign up for their service. This comes after it started recruiting riders, or officially known as the delivery partners, on social media just a couple of months ago.

While it was initially expected to be launched as a standalone app, like in Vietnam or Indonesia, the ShopeeFood Partner page indicates that it will be directly integrated within the main Shopee app. The Partner programme seems to be quite inclusive, with the service being open to restaurants, bars, cafes, food trucks, hawker stalls, and even household sellers.

Signing up to be a partner is very simple; traders only need to provide their IC, banking details, and photos of their restaurant or stall with the kitchen area, with similar steps for registered companies. From the merchant registration form, it seems that ShopeeFood will charge vendors a fee of 25% on each transaction. For context, both Grabfood and Foodpanda charge merchant fees ranging between 25% to 30%.

ShopeeFood is expected to first operate in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor when it debuts, although no exact launch date has been announced yet. With this service, Shopee is now tapping into both the food delivery and grocery delivery market, going so far as to offer deliveries for fresh poultry, fish, and even vegetables. For vendors who are interested, you can find more information here and fill up the sign-up form here.
