Razer Basilisk V3 Oddly Has Its Scroll Wheel As Its Selling Point

Razer Basilisk V3

Whenever a gaming peripheral brand is selling something new, the scroll wheel is probably the last thing you’d expect them to highlight. But that looks to be the case with the new Razer Basilisk V3, which has most of its new features centred around said wheel.

Razer says that the Basilisk V3 has three different scroll modes, which are Tactile Scrolling, Smart-Reel and Free-Spin modes. The first one gives you the mild but familiar click for each scroll notch, as it were. The last one gets rid of the notched scrolling, allowing for a free-scrolling wheel. The one with “smart” in its name allows the mouse to switch freely between the other two modes. The wheel itself also allows for four-way scrolling.

Then there’s Virtual Acceleration, which is basically the old annoying mouse acceleration, but for the scroll wheel. Though it’s worth mentioning that access to some of these requires the Razer Synapse software.

As you’d expect, the Razer Basilisk V3 comes with the other bells and whistles that you’d expect from the brand’s gaming mouse. These include the new optical switches that debuted with the new generation Viper, 11 programmable buttons, and the Chroma RGB lighting.

The Razer Basilisk V3 is now available for RM329. You can get it from the official Razer online store, linked below, or from the shelves of selected retail outlets.
