NVIDIA officially released its RTX Remix Open Beta to the public. The open beta basically gives PC modders new tools to remaster older, currently existing titles, with full ray-tracing and path-tracing, DLSS, Reflex, and a suit of Physically-based Rendering (PBR) assets and Generative AI texture tools.
For context, RTX Remix has already been used in modding titles such as NVIDIA’s own Portal with RTX, and is currently being used by studios such as Orbifold Studios, who is currently helming the “remixing” of Half-Life 2 RTX: An RTX Remix Project.
On that note, you can check out the current status of that project in the video embedded above. Of course, if you’re a budding or seasoned modder, and you want to try your hand at adding NVIDIA’s ray-tracing and path-tracing goodness into certain game titles, you can download the beta for it here, as well as get a crash course on using it here.
