Last week, KPDN announced that Malaysians will be able to register their details into the Central Database Hub (PADU) starting 2 January. It looks like there will be a launch event falling on the same date as well, which is also open to the public provided you register for it first.
According to a post on X, previously Twitter, by economic affairs minister Rafizi Ramli, the event will take place at the Perdana Hall of the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC). The physical event kicks off at 9:30AM, with the event also being streamed online for those who could not be there in person. Also included in the post is the registration link, if you’re interested in attending.

In case you missed it, PADU is a mechanism in which the government plans to use to get more accurate data on household incomes. This will then be used to formulate fairer policies and programs, as well as more accurately determine who is in need of subsidies, for instance. It would also help with streamlining the administrative process.
While it is not mandatory for Malaysians aged 18 or above to key their details in, it is encouraged, even if only to ensure they don’t miss out on subsidies that they qualify for. One such example would be the targeted subsidy for RON95 petrol, which is currently slated for the second half of next year.
