It was previously discovered back in late November that the Reno11 Pro, OPPO’s latest smartphone which was recently launched in China, has already been listed in the SIRIM database. Just today, the brand has officially confirmed that the series is indeed coming to Malaysia soon.
However, no date has been revealed just yet but interestingly enough, OPPO Malaysia’s website is also teasing a ColorOS 14 x Grab related event that’s slated to happen on 13 January 2024. It is unclear whether this will coincide with the Reno11 series’ launch in Malaysia, or is hosted separately. Based on the banner image, the event will showcase an integration of Grab’s e-hailing service on OPPO’s mobile platform, among other potential reveals.
As for the phones themselves, the Reno11 series will be offered in two variants. These include the standard model and the aforementioned high-end Pro variant. Both models are already listed in SIRIM’s database, so it’s safe to assume that the duo will debut alongside one another whenever the launch in Malaysia is held.
Anyway, here’s a recap on their specs. The vanilla Reno11 sports a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 950 nits. It runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset and is powered by a 4,800mAh battery with 67W charging.
Meanwhile, the Pro model has a slightly larger 6.74-inch 120Hz OLED panel with a higher peak brightness of 1,600 nits. It is equipped with last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and has a smaller 4,700mAh battery, but makes up for it with faster 80W charging support.
For imaging, both models have a near-identical arrangement with a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 32MP portrait camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP selfie shooter with AF. What sets the Pro apart from the standard variant is its high-end Sony LYT-700 sensor, whereas the latter comes with a Sony LYT-600.
In China, the standard Reno11 starts from CNY2,499 (~RM1,640) while the Pro has a starting price of CNY3,499 (~RM2,295). Pricing for the Malaysian market is expected to be revealed during the series’ upcoming local launch.
