Lenovo Legion Go May Get Official Unveiling On 1 September

Lenovo Legion Go

The Lenovo Legion Go started out suffering leaks, but now nearly everything have been let out the open floodgates. We’ve seen images of the handheld PC with detachable controllers, and shortly after reports of it sporting an AMD Ryzen Z1 chip surfaced, alongside details of its buttons and ports. More recently, it looks like everything you need to know about the device is already out, including an official release date of later this week.

These details come courtesy of Windows Report, who cites a source with access to the official press release of the Lenovo Legion Go. Within the kit is seemingly the complete spec sheet of the device. This confirms the previous report on the chip that powers it, noting that it goes “up to AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme”. Also interesting is the display, which is listed as an 8.8-inch QHD+ (2,560 x 1,600) 16:10 screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Other items in the Lenovo Legion Go spec sheet include 16GB of RAM, a choice of 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of PCIe 4 M.2 NVMe SSD storage, and a 2Whr battery. Not sure what that will translate to in terms of gaming time, but at least charging rate is noted as 65W. Also confirmed here are the two USB-C ports, both of which support USB 4.0, DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Deliver 3.0. For wireless tech, listed are support for Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi 6E.

Beyond the spec sheet, the report also notes that the Lenovo Legion Go will be launched on 1 September, and for a price of US$799 (~RM3714). Though it won’t be available immediately, as it is only expected in October.

Also included in the leaked press materials alongside the Lenovo Legion Go are the Legion Glasses and Legion E510 7.1 RGB Gaming In-Ear Headphones. The former is meant to be used with the handheld PC, but can reportedly be used with any device that connects to USB-C. The display noted to be of the Micro OLED variety, with Full HD resolution for each eye. It also has built-in speakers, as well as a prescription lens frame.

The latter is likely the least exciting one of the bunch, featuring 7.1 surround sound, 10mm armature drivers, and RGB. All this is powered via USB-C. Both accessories are scheduled to be launched alongside the main device. They are priced at US$499 (~RM2,319) and EUR49.99 (~RM251), respectively. Since the official launch is just later this week, we’ll find out if these are accurate.
