iPhone 15 Pro To Get Thinner Bezels, Titanium Frame

The iPhone 15 series is expected to be revealed in slightly over a month, but the Pro models have seen plenty of leaks prior. Many of them involving the change to the mute switch to an action button, as well as the possibility of it having capacitive rather than physical buttons. But there’s still more to come, as Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claims in his latest newsletter that the iPhone 15 Pro models will come with even thinner bezels than before, as well as a titanium frame.

Specifically, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will be making use of tech known as low-injection pressure over-molding, or LIPO. This was first used with the Apple Watch Series 7 released late last year. With the transition to iPhones, the tech is expected to reduce the bezels on the Pro models from 2.2mm down to 1.5mm. This will at some point also make its way to iPads, but no timeline as to when that will actually happen.

In a similar vein, Gurman reiterates that the iPhone 15 Pro models will also be replacing the stainless steel frame for one that’s made of titanium. The material is stronger and lighter, but since it is also more expensive, expect this to to reflected in the phones’ price tags as well. In fact, Gurman says that price increases are expected across all four models of the iPhone 15 line outside of the US. Which isn’t unexpected considering the exchange rate trend.

Other changes that prior leaks and rumours have pointed to for the iPhone 15 range is of course the switch to USB-C, and the availability of WiFi 6E for the Pro models. Gurman also previously claimed that the Pro Max option would be known instead as the Ultra, but that doesn’t seem to have panned out.
