ASUS officially launched its custom-cooled variants of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080. As per the brand’s SOP, the new GPU will be available across two of its most popular lineups, ROG Strix and TUF Gaming.
In addition to that, each lineup will have two SKUs: a standard edition and an OC edition of the RTX 4080. Starting with the ROG Strix lineup, the card is the brand’s high-performance model and is, in a word, massive. The card sports the same clean, uniform cooler shroud design as ASUS’ custom-cooled RTX 4090 as well, as well as the same 3.5-slot heatsink that sits on top of the GPU.
Sitting on top of the ROG Strix RTX 4080 is a triple axial-tech fan configuration, sporting seven blades per fan unit, as well as full barrier rings to ensure a greater volume of airflow through the card. And that is not to forget the same ASUS-exclusive vapour chamber design with a wider contact area, for better contact with the GPU core itself. Oh, and it comes with a sleek and stylish heatsink attached to the back of the PCB too, along with a “P” and “Q” Mode Switch at the spine.
In terms of pricing, the ASUS ROG Strix RTX 4080 retails from RM7899 for the standard edition and RM7999 for the OC edition.
Then there is the TUF Gaming lineup, what is effectively the “entry-level” tier for consumers that are more focused on the barebones performance of the RTX 4080. That being said, the TUF Gaming SKU does still maintain its visage of a no-nonsense, rugged GPU, thanks to the minimalist cooler shroud design, both at the front and back of the card.
To keep cool, the TUF Gaming RTX 4080 is fitted with a 3.65-slot heatsink, making it slightly thicker than its ROG Strix counterparts. For that matter, the card uses the same triple axial-tech fans as the latter lineup to provide a steady and voluminous amount of air to the card, as and when necessary.
Price-wise, the ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 4080 Series starts at an SRP of RM6800 for the standard edition and RM7399 for the OC Edition.
Whether it is the ROG Strix or the TUF Gaming lineup, all versions of the RTX 4080 still sport the same 16GB GDDR6X graphics memory, the same 3rd generation of RT Cores, 4th generation Tensor Cores, the same 22.4Gbps memory bandwidth, as well as the same 320W.
All versions of the ASUS ROG Strix and TUF Gaming RTX 4080 are already available.
