Alleged details of Intel’s top-of-the-line ARC Alchemist GPU have surfaced and from the looks of it, the card could run on lower-than-average clocks, compared to other top-tier graphics cards on the market.
According to multiple sources, a GPU known simply as “OpenCL HD graphics” or “Intel Xe Graphics” with up to 512 Execution Units (EUs) and 12GB of graphics memory, made its appearance on several Geekbench listings. What these listings have in common were the amount of the said graphics memory and EUs that it possessed.
Despite those impressive figures, the graphics card is seemingly running at just 1329MHz. It is likely the card’s base clock that is being listed here, especially since the listing says that the top-tier Alchemist graphics cards can achieve boost clocks as high as 2.1GHz. Interestingly enough, the setup that the alleged Intel ARC Alchemist GPU is running on is an 8th generation Coffee Lake desktop; the CPU being used in this instance is a 6-core Core i5-9600K.

Despite its stature, though, the GPU seemingly achieved scores that seem more in line with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, and not a higher-tier RTX 30 series GPU, like the RTX 3070 or RTX 3080. In all likelihood, it is possible that the 12.7GB that is listed on the Geekbench site is a mistake, and that the actual amount of graphics memory could be lower.
