Elden Ring Beta Access Keys Are Getting Scalped

Elden Ring has an upcoming beta test run, or closed network test as it is officially called, coming up this weekend for console players. The signup date for it has already passed. So naturally, the opportunistic and less morally sound samples of humanity have decided to sell their beta access. And for illogical prices at that too.

Access codes for the Elden Ring closed network test for various regions was being sold on eBay, with prices going up to US$350 (~RM1457). For context, the digital deluxe edition for the game is RM319 on the PlayStation Store, and RM279 on Steam.

Now, scalping beta access codes is an unsurprisingly new low. And for the kind of money that just slightly short of a console at that. For most people, that’s not the kind of money you pay for something that you only own for a weekend.

But unfortunately, the fact that these are being listed also means that there are Elden Ring fans desperate enough to buy these beta access codes and play them for a single weekend. For the rest of us, and hopefully you too, waiting until the game releases and getting to play the game until you get sick of it, for less than a quarter of the price, is the much better deal. Elden Ring currently has a release date of 25 February 2022, following a delay from the original 21 January.
