Just in time for the rollout of its Netflix integration, Astro has revealed a new set of TV packages for their customers. Based on our understanding of the information provided on the website, the general foundation of Astro’s new offerings consisted of Primary Pack and Entertainment Pack.
The Primary Pack is the new base package for Astro which covers 90+ channels and inclusive of Ulti Box as well as access to Astro Go, and 200 hours of cloud storage. Depending on the contract duration that you choose, the price for this package can be as low as RM59.99 although this is not inclusive of the installation fee which also depends on the contract duration that you picked during sign up.
If you are a sports fan, then you can opt for the Sports Pack which is essentially a Primary Pack with Sports add-on. With a starting price of RM 89.99, you would also be provided with the higher-end Ultra Box.
On another hand, there is also the Movies Pack that combines the Movies add-on with the Primary Pack. Priced from RM 94.99 per month, this particular combo includes access to Disney+ Hotstar and HBO Go apps as well as the Ultra Box. If you want both Movies and Sports add-ons, you can go for the Premium Pack 1 that has a starting price of RM124.99.
As for the Entertainment Pack, it also comes with access to Astro Go and 200 hours of cloud storage but with a much higher number of base channels at 105+ alongside starting price of RM89.99 per month. From there, the Entertainment Plus Pack adds Netflix into the picture together with 110+ channels and is priced from RM129.99 onwards.
Sports fans who prefer to have the Entertainment Plus Pack with Sports add-on can choose Premium Pack 2 that costs from RM149.99 per month. At the same time, the Premium Pack 3 combines Entertainment Plus Pack with Movies add-on and has a starting price of RM154.99 per month.
Meanwhile, leading Astro’s new lineup of content packages is the Platinum Pack that includes Movies, Sports, Kids, Korean, News & Documentaries, Variety, and Horror add-ons alongside a starting price of RM 194.99. Naturally, this pack also includes access to Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, and HBO Go in addition to Astro GO and 200 hours of cloud storage.
For existing Astro customers, they can choose to remain with their current packages which are now being referred to as the Legacy packages. However, the company didn’t reveal how long that these customers are able to hold on to those packages.
