Currently, the most common way for anyone who dabbles in NFTs to show off their collection is through specialised platforms such as OpenSea and Rarible. But wouldn’t it be great if you could share your newly created or purchased digital collectibles in social media as well? Well, it so happens that Twitter might be introducing such a feature in the near future.
First discovered by app researcher Jane Manchun Wong through is a new Collectibles tab in the user’s profile page on the platform. According to the leakster, this is where Twitter users can showcase their NFT collection in an image gallery-like view.
Tapping on a thumbnail in Collectibles will provide visitors with a full view of the artwork that is represented by the NFT, as well as the option to view its complete details. The latter – according to the screenshot provided by Wong – provides information such as the artwork’s description, where it is hosted and verified, as well as its creator’s identity and their other properties.

It is not known how users can link their Twitter account to an NFT marketplace or gallery at this time. And while Wong’s image lists OpenSea as a likely platform that may be supporting this alleged feature, it is very likely that she added this merely as an example.
Only time will tell whether Collectibles will officially become a part of Twitter or become another feature that would not see the light of day. That being said, having a social media platform with an NFT gallery would definitely be useful to both creators and collectors alike, especially for showcasing their collection to thousands of would-be buyers with plenty of Ethereum to splurge.
