VR titles are not usually what you’d expect from the monthly free games for PS Plus subscribers. But it looks like it will be for next month’s list. Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that starting in November, PS Plus subscribers will get three PS VR bonus games.
The announcement was made on the official PlayStation Blog, noting that this is part of the PS VR’s fifth anniversary celebrations. The wording is far from clear, but from the word “bonus” this implies that it will be in addition to the usual three free games. But as for what VR titles they will be, we’ll have to wait for the usual monthly list to be announced. And it remains to be seen if this means we’ll be getting a total of six games a month moving forward, or if this deal will be just for a few months.
In the post, SIE also shared a list of the most popular PS VR games, measured by playtime hours. There are some differences between the list for the most popular titles globally, in Europe, in the US and in Japan, but the three titles that dominate all those lists are Resident Evil 7 VR, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR and Beat Saber.
While possible, that doesn’t necessarily mean that any of these three will be given away for free. But we’ll have to wait until the end of the month to know for sure.
