Here Is The List Of All Keluarga Malaysia Youth and Device Telco Packages

The government has officially announced the Keluarga Malaysia telco initiative which provides affordable data and device plans in partnership with major Malaysian telcos. There are two packages to choose from; Pakej Remaja Keluarga Malaysia for teens and university students; and Pakej Peranti Keluarga Malaysia for households to get their hands on affordable 4G devices.

The packages are provided by Celcom, Digi, Maxis, TM, U Mobile, and Yes, so customers will have their pick of the litter. In general, the youth package costs RM30 for three months with a minimum of 20GB while the device package starts at RM40 per month for each device with a choice between 12 and 24-month instalments. For the latter, each NRIC is eligible for a maximum of two devices.

Remember that if you’re over 21 and studying in college or university, you will need to provide a valid student card while those under 21 can just provide their MyKad. Those interested can sign up starting 15 October 2021 until 15 April 2022 with the respective telcos.

All Keluarga Malaysia plans are still eligible for the daily 1GB productivity data. While the passes only last 90 days, you can purchase them again and again for the next six months. There is no limit on how many times you can buy the passes but each individual is limited to only one Keluarga Malaysia line.

Here are the packages available:

Celcom

Celcom is advertising 110GB of data for the Remaja package for only RM30, which is valid for 90 days. Though it’s worth pointing out that in its FAQ page, the plan actually only comes with 20GB but Celcom is including the daily 1GB allocation. It is also named the Pakej Remaja RM30 20GB Pas Internet in said FAQ page.

As for the family device packages, they offer a Nokia 225 4G feature phone for RM38 per month with a 12-month contract and includes 7GB of data for its base package. Budget smartphones are also available for RM58 per month with a 24-month contract with 15GB of monthly data. Available smartphones include a Samsung Galaxy A02, a Samsung Galaxy A03s, a realme C11, a realme C21, an OPPO A15, a Vivo Y1s and a Vivo Y12s.

Digi

Digi Pakej Malaysia

According to a FAQ on Digi’s community forum, the Remaja package is available at RM30 for 90 days with 20GB of data. But it can only be bought through the Touch ‘n Go eWallet app, which will then have to be redeemed on the Digi app.

Digi’s Pakej Peranti Keluarga Malaysia costs RM40 per month with 10GB of data, unlimited calls, and a 24-month contract. For devices, you have a choice of either a Samsung Galaxy A02 or a Redmi 9A.

Maxis/Hotlink

Maxis Hotlink Keluarga Malaysia

For the Remaja package, Hotlink is offering the basic 20GB for RM30, which is valid for 90 days. It also seems that Hotlink is cutting the deal short with an earlier expiry date of 15 March 2022 instead of 15 April.

As for the Keluarga Malaysia devices, you can get one of two devices for RM60 per month bundled with their 30GB Hotlink Postpaid 60 plan, which comes with a 24-month contract. These are the realme C21 and Vivo Y12s. You can also opt to pay an additional RM99 upfront to get the Vivo Y20 instead, or RM199 for either the OPPO A54 or the realme C25s.

TM/Unifi

Unifi is also offering 20GB for RM30, valid for 90 days, and the Pakej Remaja pass can only be purchased through the mobile@unifi app. According to the FAQ, if you’re not already a #BEBAS prepaid subscriber, you’ll first need to purchase a RM10 starter pack.

Unifi’s Pakej Peranti Keluarga Malaysia offers two devices, a Samsung Samsung Galaxy A02 and a vivo Y12s. Both devices cost RM79 per month and include unlimited calls, texts, and data with a 24-month contract. But you’ll have to already be an unifi Broadband subscriber to be eligible.

U Mobile

U Mobile’s KM30 Remaja plan is offering the standard 20GB for RM30. But similar to Celcom, they are advertising 110GB by including the daily 1GB data.

As for the telco’s Keluarga Malaysia device package, there’s only one device on offer, and it’s the Samsung Galaxy A02. The package itself costs RM40 per month for 5GB of monthly data and a 12-month contract. You also get 50 minutes’ worth of calls every month to all networks.

Yes

At the time of writing, Yes 4G has not posted their Keluarga Malaysia packages yet. We’ll update this section when the telco makes its plans available. That being said, it’s probably safe to expect something similar to what the other telcos are offering.

In terms of the data quota, the offerings provided by the telco matched what the government has announced to the public. When it comes to devices, there is indeed some variety but all of them are entry-level models which are not exactly surprising to see given the intention behind the Keluarga Malaysia telco package as well as their pricing.

All in all, both the Pakej Remaja Keluarga Malaysia and Pakej Peranti Keluarga Malaysia offers something for everyone. That being said, we reckon that your choice will likely come down to which telco you are already subscribed to.
