WhatsApp has unveiled a fresh feature on the iOS and web version of its messaging app which enables users to generate, modify, and share their personalised stickers. With this, users can transform their own photos into stickers or tailor existing ones within the Meta-owned app itself.
The editing tools provided by WhatsApp allows users to personalise stickers using text, drawing, and overlaying other stickers. Upon sending a customised sticker, it automatically saves in the sticker tray for easy reuse.
To create a sticker from an image, users initiate the process by selecting the sticker icon to the right of the text box, and then tapping the “create sticker” feature. Following this, users can choose a photo from their gallery and further customise the sticker by incorporating cutouts, text, additional stickers, or drawings.
For editing existing stickers, users can open the sticker tray, long-press the desired sticker, and select the “edit sticker” button. You can then customise the sticker to your liking and send it once you’re done.
WhatsApp says the new in-app sticker editing tool is already available on WhatsApp web, and is gradually being rolled out to users on iOS 17. However, it is not mentioned when it will be available on Android at this time.
