AMD Zen 5 Granite Ridge Reportedly Enters Mass Production

AMD’s follow-up to its Zen 4 architecture, Zen 5, has reportedly entered into mass production. The alleged confirmation comes from a relatively popular leakster, Kepler (@Kepler_L2), who made several posts in replies over X, formerly Twitter.

Supposedly, Zen 5, which is also known by its codename Granite Ridge, has already entered mass production, meaning that we could see the new architecture make an appearance as early as this year, with the internet speculating that the chipset may debut as early as Computex 2024, which is slated to start on 4 June.

Then, as now, Zen 5 will very likely ship out for the DIY desktop segment first, before the technology eventually makes its way into the mobile market segment. Further, it is expected that AMD will launch SKUs ranging from 6-cores to 16-cores, while CPU models beefed up with its 3D V-Cache technologies will come along later down the road.

Of course, it is also possible that the upcoming CPU lineup will be modified to a measurable extent to include the trappings of a Ryzen AI Neural Processing Unit (NPU). It’s not a long shot, given that the medium is the current theme and even AMD’s biggest rivals, Intel and NVIDIA, have been pushing it in every way, shape, and form. Zen 5 nothwithstanding.
