Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi K70 series in China, the latest flagship lineup for its sub-brand. These new smartphones are equipped with ludicrously bright screens and ship with the brand’s new Android 14-based HyperOS software out of the box.
First up, we have the top dog of the pack, the K70 Pro. It sports a 6.67-inch 12-bit 1440p OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an astounding peak brightness of 4,000 nits, which Xiaomi claims is the highest in the industry. It’s also one of the earliest phones to run on Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
For the cameras, it has a rear module containing a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide. All three smartphones in the series house a 16MP selfie shooter. Powering everything is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W wired charging.
The most premium of the family even gets a special Automobili Lamborghini Squadra Corse Edition, in collaboration with the car manufacturer. It has a unique design that differs from the other phones in the lineup to reference the sharp Lamborghini lines and it will only be offered in a configuration with 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
In the middle, there’s the vanilla K70 which packs the same 6.67-inch OLED display as the Pro. The main differences are the cameras as well as the chip under the hood, as this phone runs on last year’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Speaking of cameras, the phone uses a 50MP primary lens with OIS, a lower-end 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro lens. Similar to the Pro, it has a battery capacity of 5,000mAh with support for 120W charging.
Last but not least, there’s the affordable K70E that includes a 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED display with a lower peak brightness of 1,800 nits and a resolution of 2712×1220. Inside, it’s powered by the upper-midrange Mediatek Dimensity 8300 Ultra SoC.
On the photography side, it has a 64MP main camera that also has OIS alongside an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro lens. This variant supports a slower 90W charging speed but makes up for it with a substantially larger 5,500mAh battery.
The K70 has a starting price of CNY2,499 (~RM1,632) while the Pro starts from CNY3,299 (~RM2,155) and the K70E is offered at CNY2,000 (~RM1,306) for the base trim. It’s unknown if or when this series will make its way to other markets but according to some reports, the K70E might be launched globally as the POCO X6 Pro.
