Maybank today announced that all transactions done via Maybank2u Biz app and web platforms will require Secure2u authorisation starting 26 November 2023. The implementation is part of its continuous efforts to deliver secure and convenient banking solutions to curb unauthorised transactions and fraudulent activities for customers.
The bank notes that Secure2u will be the only authorisation method to approve Maybank2u Biz transactions henceforth. As with Maybank’s MAE app, users can approve or reject payments via the Biz app, while fund deductions will only be processed upon the approvals from Secure2u verifications.
Maybank is urging account holders to activate the security feature before 26 November 2023 for their convenience. Rest assured that there are no penalties imposed if you chose to initiate it after the given date, though keep in mind that a minimum12-hour activation period is required from 27 November onwards.
To activate Secure2u on Maybank2u Biz, launch the mobile app and tap the “Control Centre” button on the top left of the screen. From there, select “Settings”, then “Security”, and finally toggle on “Secure2u” to enable it. The bank notes that unlike its MAE app, Maybank2u Biz users are not required to fulfil the additional step of authorising Secure2u via a Maybank ATM for first time users and new devices.
