Samsung has officially launched its new Galaxy M34 5G mid-range smartphone in Malaysia, which is offered exclusively via its official online store on Shopee. As you may recall, the handset first made its debut in India back in July this year, though it is only offered in a single memory configuration for the local market.
Like most phones from the South Korean tech giant this year, the Galaxy M34 5G sports a recognisable design language but with a curvier frame. Unlike its launch in India, the new mid-ranger is only available in two colour options in Malaysia: Waterfall Blue and MIdnight Blue.
Its display is a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED panel with FHD+ (1080 x 2340 px) resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1,000-nit peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Also onboard is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, loudspeaker, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack – a rarity for most mid-range phones, especially those from Samsung.
On the inside, the handset is equipped with an Exynos 1280 chipset, a Mali-G68 GPU, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB via microSD. Powering it is a large 6,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support via USB-C. Apart from that, the mid-ranger also features Android 13 via One UI 5.1, as well as WiFi, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC wireless connectivity support.
In terms of imaging, the phone comes with a triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro, whereas housed within the notch on its display is a 13MP front-facing camera. Other features in this department include 10x digital zoom, 720p 240fps slow motion, and UHD 4K (3840 x 2160 px) video recordings at up to 30fps.
As mentioned earlier, the new Galaxy M34 5G is available exclusively via the brand’s official online store on Shopee, priced at RM1,399. To commemorate its launch and in conjunction with the 10.10 Sale, Samsung will be offering the phone at a special price of RM999 for a limited time starting at 8pm later.
