UPDATE (1:40 PM ): As suspected, PlayStation has clarified what the local prices of the Deep Earth Collection will be locally. Done via a separate post for the Southeast Asian market as the company usually does, it is now confirmed that the new controllers are priced at RM369 while the plates are RM259. The post has the same dates as the original, alongside the usual caveat of “exact launch date and availability for the accessories may vary by region and is subject to change”. So on that front, we are still waiting for more concrete dates.

PlayStation has been announcing new colour options for the DualSense controllers and PS5 face plates, or console covers as the company prefers calling it. But these releases have come at a tectonic pace so far. There’s finally another batch, and it is called the Deep Earth Collection. As the name suggests, you can expect to be paying a slight premium for these over the average variants.
The new collection of PS5 face plates and DualSense controllers consist of the Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue and Sterling Silver colour variants. As the names suggest, these come with a metallic finish to them to differentiate them from the existing Cosmic Red, Starlight Blue, and default white. The difference for the red one is immediately obvious, though the other two would probably need some light for them to shine.
Despite their recent announcement, they won’t be available for quite some time. The official announcement post on the PlayStation Blog says that per-orders will only start on 4 October. Availability for the Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue versions of the PS5 plates and DualSense controllers will instead only be available on 3 November, while Sterling Silver will only arrive on 26 January. All this is also not yet taking into consideration local launch dates.
The same goes for its price. The Deep Earth Collection PS5 plates are marked as US$59.99 (~RM281), while the DualSense controllers are priced at US$74.99 (~RM351) instead. The latter is the same price point in the US as the existing additional space-related colours, with the default white and Midnight Black being US$69.99.
Locally, the standard controller colourways are priced at RM349 while the additional space colours have a RM20 premium on top. With all that in mind it’s probably safe to expect these new colours to also cost RM369. Ditto the price of the plates, which should be at RM259. Conjecture aside, we’ll know for sure when PlayStation announces the local pricing and availability of these new accessories.
