Earlier this month, HONOR introduced the V Purse concept at IFA Berlin 2023, a fashion-forward foldable phone that uses an outward folding display and chain straps to make it look like a purse when being carried. Now, the company has officially launched the fashionable device as an actual product in China.
The V Purse is extremely thin and light with measurements of 156.5 x 74.7 x 8.6mm and a weight of just 214g. Because it’s outward-folding, there’s only a single display that provides a screen on both sides when folded. The full display is a 7.71-inch 2348×2016 OLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. When in its folded state, you get a 6.45-inch display.
Inside the thin chassis is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset with 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. There is a dual rear-facing camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide lens while the front houses an 8MP selfie camera. Powering it is a small 4,500mAh battery with support for 35W charging.
The V Purse starts from CNY6,000 (~RM3,860) for the base model with limited pre-sales already available in China. It’s unknown if the brand plans on shipping the foldable out to international markets but given its limited status, it seems unlikely.
