Twitter To Allow Businesses To Post Job Listings

Twitter Blue Verified Now Concern Malaysia

To say that it is now a period of rapid change for Twitter would probably be an understatement. But one change that may be coming soon may not be one that’s aimed directly at the average user, but instead businesses that use the bird platform. It’s the ability for said businesses to post job openings on their account.

This was shared by Adam Ryan, CEO of media company Workweek, via a screenshot of the company’s Twitter account. A section that’s not normally seen on an account currently, sitting between the follower count and the tabs that show tweets, replies and the like, is a horizontally scrolling list of available positions within the company. Though chances are you won’t see the list yourself when visiting the Workweek Twitter page.

Ryan says that the company has already hired over 20 people via the blue bird platform, so this feature “is a no-brainer”. Which is fair if true. That being said, every business account will get the ability to hire straight off of Twitter. For one, in response to several questions, Ryan says that this is “part of the package” of a paid business account. Which means paying about US$1,000 (~RM4,539) a month for the ability to do so, among other benefits.

Beyond just the paying requirement, it looks like Workweek is among the few, if not the only, verified organisation showing off the new feature. Twitter itself has also not made any official announcement on the matter, at least at the time of writing. This indicates that the ability for paying businesses to post jobs may be something that the company is testing internally, with the possibility of a wider rollout coming later.
