Apart from confirming the pricing of its Model Y EV for the local market, Tesla today has also shared the locations for its upcoming Supercharger installations in Malaysia via its official website. For now, these consist of a total of 10 areas in Peninsular Malaysia, though keep in mind that none of which have been activated just yet.
According to the Find Us section on Tesla’s website, the Superchargers will be available in the Klang Valley, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Johor and Penang. So far, only Kuala Lumpur has the most number of installations, while the other locations only have one station listed.
Below is a list based on the information provided on the company’s website:
Klang Valley
- Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.
- Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.
- Undisclosed location around Jalan Cheras / MEX highway in Kuala Lumpur.
- Undisclosed location around Jalan Kuching in Kuala Lumpur.
- Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
- Dengkil, Selangor.
Perak
- Undisclosed location around Jalan Tambun / North-South Expy highway in Ipoh.
Negeri Sembilan
- Undisclosed location around Jalan Rantau – Pedas / North-South Expy.
Penang
- Undisclosed location around Jalan Pematang Pauh (Route 3111) and BKE highway in Perai.
Johor
- Iskandar Puteri
Do take note that the above are believed to be rough indications of where the Supercharger stations will be potentially located in Peninsular Malaysia. One thing’s for sure, it does look like the company is focusing on establishing the first batch along the major highways on the west coast. As mentioned by Investment, Trade and Industry minister Tengku Zafrul before this, it is expected that Tesla will install at least 50 Superchargers throughout Malaysia within three years.
It’s still not known when the current batch is expected to be in operation, and the company has yet to reveal the charging fees for the local market. Perhaps we’ll find out more about this during Tesla’s upcoming local launch that’s slated to take place next week on 20 July 2023.
