Samsung has finally announced the local availability and pricing for its latest entry-level smartphone, the Galaxy A14. To be more specific, it is confirmed to go on sale in Malaysia at a recommended retail price of RM 799 from 15 March onwards via the brand’s experience stores and authorised retailers nationwide, as well as through its official online store.
To recap, the new Samsung Galaxy A14 sports a flat 6.6-inch PLS LCD display with a water-drop notch, FHD+ (1080 x 2408 pixel) resolution, and 16M colour depth. It also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, loudspeaker, a USB-C port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and is offered in either Black, Silver or Dark Red colour options
Internally, the phone packs an undisclosed 2 GHz octa-core chipset (which some sources say is an Exynos 1330), along with a single memory configuration of 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal memory, as well as featuring support of up to 1 TB external storage via microSD. Powering it is an all-day 5,000 mAh battery with 15 W charging speed via USB-C.
Imaging-wise, the Galaxy A14 features a triple camera setup on its back that consists of a 50 MP primary sensor, a 5 MP ultra-wide and a 2 MP macro, whereas housed within the water-drop notch on its display is a 13 MP selfie camera. Besides that, it includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC connectivity, and runs on Android 13 via Samsung’s One UI Core 5 platform.
It’s also worth mentioning that there’s also a 5G variant of the device, which basically features the same design but with different internal hardware. Unlike its sibling, this particular model’s 6.6-inch display has support of up to 90 Hz refresh rate, while under the hood is a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage (with up to 1TB external storage support via microSD). Meanwhile, its rear triple camera setup consists of a 50 MP primary, 2 MP depth, and 2 MP macro.
However, Samsung has yet to confirm the local availability and pricing for the Galaxy A14 5G at this time. Despite this, the product page for the handset is already live on the brand’s local website, which could mean that its launch could happen very soon.
