Google Play Games PC Beta Now Live In Malaysia

Playing an Android game on PC previously involved using third party software like BlueStacks. This also meant that progress you make on one platform is not synced to the other, which is a major bummer for a lot of games. But now that the Google Play Games Beta for PC is now available in Malaysia, such things will be a thing of the past. For supported games, at least.

As the name suggests, the Google Play Games PC software allows you to play Android games on PC. By signing into your Google account, your progress is also synced from one platform to another. Though as mentioned, this only works for games that are currently available via the PC software. In addition to syncing game progress, you also gain Google Play Points when you make in-app purchases via Google Play Games.

Previously only available Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand and Australia, the Google Play Games PC beta is now available in more markets, including ours. It now also comes with more features based on feedback provided by users in the earlier batch of markets. There are also other improvements made since the previous beta, which includes a lowering of the minimum requirements to run the PC software. Here’s the list as provided by the company:

  • OS: Windows 10 (v2004)
  • Storage: Solid State Drive (SSD) with 10 GB of available storage space
  • Graphics: IntelⓇ UHD Graphics 630 GPU or comparable
  • Processor: 4 CPU physical cores
  • Memory: 8 GB of RAM
  • Windows admin account
  • Hardware virtualisation must be turned on

Over time, the company says that it will add more titles to Google Play Games PC, as well as more features based on ongoing player feedback. No word on a full release just yet, but if you want to give the beta a go or find out more about the feature, you can do so by hitting the link below.
