Garmin has launched a follow-up to last year’s endurance-oriented smartwatch called the Enduro 2. For those who are not familiar with the company’s Enduro series, it is meant for outdoor adventures such as hiking, mountain climbing, surfing, and more, with the ability for users to practically forget about having to charge the watch over long periods.

The Enduro 2 sports a 1.4-inch 280×280 touch display protected by a Power Sapphire lens and a titanium bezel. Also features a built-in solar panel and a nylon loop band, fitted between the lugs is a multi-LED flashlight that Garmin claims is twice as bright as the one found in the Fenix 7X.

Being a fitness and sports smartwatch, it is decked out with an arsenal of health features to monitor your body. This includes a heart rate monitor, a pulse oximeter, respiration tracking, hydration tracking, sleep tracking, and a long list of so many more software features to help you optimise your workouts and other activities.

Of course, the Garmin Enduro 2 is also equipped with a whole lot of sensors for it to function independently without a smartphone, including GPS, GLONASS, SatIQ, a compass, a thermometer, and more. As for connectivity, the watch supports Bluetooth, ANT+, and even has built-in Wi-Fi capability so that you can update maps without a computer.

The highlight of the smartwatch is the battery endurance, which the company says has improved by over 40% compared to its predecessor. Taking into account the solar charging capabilities, the watch can last up to a whopping 46 days in smartwatch mode although that is actually less than the 65-day endurance of the original Enduro.

However, the improvement in battery life can be seen with GPS turned on, which has been increased from 70 hours to 150 hours. The most impressive part is the battery saver watch mode which allows the wearable to last up to 550 days, stretching the limit to almost 200 days more than its predecessor.

The Garmin Enduro 2 is being sold for US$1099.99 (~RM4,900) and seems to only be available in black. The brand has not announced local pricing and availability yet.
