Xiaomi And Foodpanda Partner Up To Quickly Get Electronics Into Your Hands

Foodpanda Xiaomi partnership

Food and grocery delivery platform Foodpanda has announced that it’s partnering up with Chinese tech giant Xiaomi for on-demand deliveries of electronics appliances. Foodpanda is Xiaomi’s first quick-commerce partner outside of China, with Singapore and Thailand being the first countries to be able to get on-demand deliveries for Xiaomi products.

The partnership sees Foodpanda offering hundreds of Xiaomi’s smart devices, audio and mobile accessories, and household appliances under its “shops” section. This means that consumers will be able to purchase any of these products in the Foodpanda app and have it delivered within 30 minutes.

What’s more, the Foodpanda app will be pre-installed in all new Xiaomi smartphones in 10 Asian markets, namely Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Pakistan, Taiwan, Philippines, Bangladesh, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar. Xiaomi isn’t the first, as other electronic brands such as Huawei, Logitech, Asus, TP Link, Remax, and Philips have also joined Foodpanda’s shops platform.

A 2021 report by Frost & Sullivan showed that Foodpanda saw 18x growth in orders for computer and mobile device accessories compared to the same period in 2020, mainly fuelled by the COVID-19 pandemic that led to consumers spending more time on digital media. Foodpanda even launched an in-house grocery store called pandamart to meet the demands for instant delivery, with rival Grab also competing with GrabSupermarket.
