NVIDIA Could Be Announcing GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB And RTX 3080 12GB In December

Back in October, it was rumoured that NVIDIA was planning on launching several new GeForce cards under the RTX 30 series, including and RTX 3070 Ti with double the GDDR6X graphics memory, an RTX 3080 with 12GB GDDR6X, and a Turing-based RTX 2060 with 12GB GDDR6 memory. Now it appears that all three cards may have gotten an announcement date.

According to hongxing2020 (@hongxing2020), the leakster who initially broke the news on the alleged existence of the souped up cards, NVIDIA could very well be preparing to officially break its silence on the cards during the middle of December this year. Specifically, the RTX 2060 will be hitting store shelves on 7 December, while the jacked up RTX 3070 Ti 16Gb and RTX 3080 12GB will both be announced from 17 December, with availabilities set for 11 January onwards.

Details about the cards have been scarce but based on earlier rumours, the RTX 3070 Ti is set to feature a GA104-401 GPU, while the RTX 3080 12GB could get the newer GA102-220 GPU, along with a slightly wider 384-bit memory bus. And while not explicitly mentioned by hongxing2020, the launch of these cards may be NVIDIA setting up the stage for the arrival of yet another one of its card next year: the RTX 3090 Ti. To that end, it was also indirectly confirmed by ASUS last week that the card could be the first to be compatible with the new PCIe Gen5 interface.

In any case, nothing has been confirmed by NVIDIA at the publication of this article, so do take it with a large grain of salt.
