Spotify has collaborated with Netflix to launch a dedicated section called Netflix Hub. As you may have guessed from its name, the new section features musical content from movies and shows made by the popular video streaming service.
Both companies have decided to come out with the Netflix Hub after noticing a rising trend among Spotify users who have created themed playlists based on Netflix movies and shows.
As noted in the joint media release, they said that more than 22,500 Squid Game-themed custom playlists have been created by Spotify users within two weeks of the show’s release on Netflix. Then again, the Korean series has since become the biggest show ever released on the streaming service.
Naturally, Netflix Hub houses official playlists for tons of Netflix’s contents such as Money Heist, On My Block, Stranger Things, Bridgerton, Narcos: Mexico, and many more. Aside from official playlists, you can also find official soundtracks as well which even covered recently released content including the Cowboy Bebop live-action series and Red Notice.
The new hub also features podcasts dedicated to certain Netflix shows like The Crown or Shadow and Bones. There is even additional interactive content such as this quiz to match your personality with a Money Heist character as well as video interviews, trailers, and a photo gallery within the show’s own personalized section on Spotify.
Furthermore, Spotify has also released an “enhanced experience” for the soundtrack of Netflix’s new film, The Harder They Fall, which includes behind-the-scenes materials and audio liners via Spotify’s Canvas, Storylines, and Clips. The new Netflix Hub can be accessed on its desktop website here, or you can search for the Netflix official profile on your phone’s app.
Spotify said that only users in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, and India can access the hub’s contents, but we’ve had no problem finding most of them on the Spotify app. The music streaming giant has previously launched the Disney Hub in 2019 that is dedicated to Disney playlists and soundtracks.
