HONOR has revealed via Weibo the launch for the HONOR 60 series, the successor to the HONOR 50 lineup that was released just a few months ago. The new lineup is set to debut on 1 December in China, with a theme heavily centred towards a starry night.
The company has revealed any actual details about the HONOR 60 series yet, but leakster WHYLAB had earlier released a purported poster of the phone. If the leak is to be believed, the HONOR 60 will retain the HONOR 50’s dual-ring camera design and have 5G support.
From the Weibo video, we can see that the HONOR 60 will retain the curved display of its predecessor. The phone also appears to have what looks like a headphone jack and a single bottom-firing speaker, as well as a camera surrounded by circular ridges, which looks similar to the HONOR 50’s primary camera ring.
Then HONOR 50 lineup had three models — the vanilla HONOR 50, HONOR 50 Pro, and HONOR 50 SE. To that end, we can expect the HONOR 60 series to have similar variants, but given the unusually short gap between the two lineups’ releases, it would be interesting to see whether the pricing of the new series will be the same as its predecessor or billed at a higher premium.
The HONOR 50 was officially launched in Malaysia last month with a starting price of RM1699, which we also did an in-depth review of, should you wish to understand more about the phone.
